MUMBAI, India - Indian security forces Friday assaulted a Jewish center in Mumbai where Muslim militants were believed holed up with possible hostages, with black-clad commandos dropping from a helicopter as sharpshooters opened fire on the five-story building.

Commandos also scoured two luxury hotels room-by-room for survivors and militants, more than a day after a series of terrorist attacks across India's financial center left at least 119 people dead.

The well-coordinated strikes by small bands of gunmen left India's financial center shell-shocked, but the sporadic gunfire and explosions at the Taj Mahal and Oberoi hotels dwindled overnight Friday, indicating the siege might be winding down.

The prime minister blamed groups based outside the country for the brazen attacks, while an Indian newspaper reported that three of the militants confessed they are members of a Pakistani-based group.

At the headquarters of the ultra-orthodox Jewish outreach group Chabad Lubavitch, a commando assault began shortly after dawn following a tense night in which six trucks of soldiers had been brought in to surround the building.

Snipers stationed in buildings opposite the center began the attack, with sustained fire on the building as at least nine commandos lowered themselves by rope onto the roof from a circling Indian air force helicopter.

Security forces searched room-by-room at the five-star hotels — top gathering spots for the Mumbai elite. Commandos had spent much of Thursday bringing out hostages, trapped guests and corpses in small groups. Firefighters put out blazes that erupted a day earlier at both hotels.

The carnage started Wednesday night when gunmen — at least some of whom arrived by sea — fanned out across Mumbai to attack several sites popular with tourists and businessmen. Police said 119 people were killed and 315 were wounded."

I've about had it with radical muslims. Maybe someone should put them out of my misery.





I wasn't paying attention to the news [dling porn instead] and I walked into this news story at my Dad's. I was silently chanting "Please, not muslims. Please, not muslims. Please, not muslims," over and over in my head. But, once I heard they crazies found and seized a Chabad in India, I knew it was those fucking morons again.

I had no idea that there were Chasidim in India. That's a pretty long way from Crown Heights. Since members of the Chabad only proselytize fellow Jews [returning non-practicing Jews to the fold], I can't really understand it.

Why in the world would anyone think it was NOT Muslims. Of course it is Muslims. I love to know the figure percentage wise regarding terrorist acts and who perpetrated them. The pakistani problem is bad for India, Kashmir adds a whole different perspective to the normal list of slights that these muslims feel.

I was just hoping that there might just be some other group going nuts.

I hate hating them.

But, in fairness, they've worked hard to earn my hate.

Virginia Father, Daughter Visiting India Confirmed Dead in Terror Attacks

FABER, Va. — A foundation in Virginia is confirming the deaths of a man and his teenage daughter in the terrorist attacks in India.

A spokeswoman with the Synchronicity Foundation said Friday Alan Scherr and his 13-year-old daughter, Naomi, were killed while they were in a cafe in Mumbai.

Bobbie Garvey says the 58-year-old father and his daughter were identified by colleagues.

For a second excruciating night, the Brooklyn family of a Crown Heights rabbi and his wife held hostage in Mumbai waited to learn their fate.

Photos showed little Moshe Holtzberg, the couple's 2-year-old son, being carried to freedom from a besieged Jewish community center in India's financial capital.

The child, his Indian nanny and a third person were led out of the Chabad House early Thursday. Moshe's pants were soaked in blood, but he was unharmed.

His father, Rabbi Gavriel Holtzberg, 29, and wife Rivka, 28, were still inside as commandos staged a daring raid early Thursday.

I consider the muslim/islam-bashing that goes on around the world in general and in the US in particular rather disgusting and it does remind me of a period in history of which everyone agreed that it 'should never happen again'.

I live every day knowing that I have microscopic bits of buildings and the victims of the Trade Center in my lungs forever. I worked at Canal & Broadway. I live right in the wind northerly stream. For months afterward, I tasted it whenever I breathed in.

ROFL Jewish people quite commonly marry outside their religion in the US and elsewhere. As for the Israel, it's the only state in region that recognize at least some minority rights. You can get legally executed in Saudi Arabia for bringing a Bible into the country, you can get thrown to prison and beaten for even smiling at a local girl in Iran if you're a foreigner.

And those rights are the same for Jews and Muslims? No they aren't. Granted the Middle Eastern countries are controlling (you can be non Muslim in a Muslim country, just that Muslims cannot leave Islam) But Israel does have intolerence too albeit to a lesser scale.

I agree Islmaic Middle Eastern Goverement are backward and barbaric, but don't confuse politicians and goverment of those countries with the people that inhabit them. If you sit at a Muslim family for a meal they won't lop your head off if you ask for chips with your fallafel. If all Muslims were killers they'd more violence in your streets. They aren't so there isn't.

What is your solution, foribly removing Islam from those countries? Killing all Muslims?

Last I know those were Christians and not Jews blowing up the clinics, but I have protested abuses of abortion clinics and clinicians. I have marched several times for abortion rights.

I have protested abuses on gays.

I have protested against Israels treatment of the Palestinians.

I have protested to get drug coverage for people who didn't have any or enough.

I protested against my government's Iraq war - both before and after we went in.

I protested my government not helping the muslims in Bosnia back when Bush #1 was in office.

I protested against corporate welfare in New York State.

I protested against my own union's treatment of its employees. And, I was an elected officer in the same "party" as those doing the poor treatment. And, I lost friends in the process.

And, as a little baby, my mom took me, my brother and infant sister to the civil rights march in Washington in 1963. I was too young to remember anything, but certainly it help teach me to stand up for what you believe.


Be sure of this:

If some Jews or some Americans or some Met fans were claiming that they were speaking for all of my group and blowing people up, I would be there to say that they were not.

And, I would be there to scream that they were WRONG and should be brought to justice.

Protesting is what you do when you're group is doing wrong to others. You take action. You distance yourself from the wrongdoers.

Did you see what happened in the US when Republicans went over-the-top during the campaign? Like Bachmann from Minnesota? Several were critical publicly. Quietly they took away her national funding. Several used it as a reason to endorse the Democrat.

Someone once said that bad things happen when good men don't stand up, and stay quiet in the face of bad men . Well, I don't agree. Good men ALWAYS stand up. If you think someone was a good man and he didn't stand up HE WAS NOT A GOOD MAN. So, to me, there appears to be NO GOOD MUSLIMS 'cause no one is standing up.

It's plain to me that the majority of their group tacitly support the terror. If they want me to believe that they aren't part of it, then they should be among those screaming about it and fighting it.


But, then again, in Palestine, Iraq, Pakistan and Afghanistan, etc., they seem too busy fighting and killing each other.


And, I assure you, they do emote when they feel something. They did CHEER in Palestine when the towers went down so they do respond to stuff. Is it just that they cannot be critical of their own? Or do they just agree?

Generalization and demonization of muslims is wrong. Agreed.

But comparisons with the Holocaust is wrong (and revisionistic!) on so many different levels that all I can say is a big FUCK YOU to you, freestylah!
