Thankful for a secure job at an (apparently) secure large law firm and the disposable income that comes with it.
Thankful for having that same disposable income to buy exotic beers, culinary gadgets, and nearby stores to buy ling cod, prosciutto, funky goat cheese, ad infinitum.
Thankful that the Internet is still free of censorship and whose access is not partitioned out to the haves and haves not (i.e. Net Neutrality).
Thankful that I live in a city and not a suburb (groan) or even worse, a "small town", "real values" be damned.
Thankful that I can still get a newspaper delivered to my door every day for $13-$14 a month and three other weekly newspapers free for the taking at convenient boxes downtown.
Thankful that last night's 105-minute "the Shield" series finale was awesome.
Thankful for a new administration who (apparently) is contemplative, even-keeled and well-read as opposed to one that is ideology-driven, politically vengeful and in an ignorance bubble, and that the transition appears to be moving smoothly (sans Hannity fearing a tyrant).
Thankful for (I know it's only) rock and roll (but I like it).
