Meh. I don't know why people get worked up about stuff like that. So your liver goes bad a little sooner. Big whoop. Personally, I think it's kind of liberating being on a short clock. Carpe Diem and all that.
My old man was told by a doc in 1981 that if he didn't stop drinking he'd be dead in 5 years from liver failure. To make a long story short, he quit cold turkey for about 10 months, then said fuck it and picked up the bottle where he left off. He went back to the doc somewhere around 1991. The doc checked his liver and said: "It's perfect, keep doing whatever you've been doing.", and he has ever since. Still pounding 'em back in 2008. Go Dad!
