Understood, you've got a style and vision. My point was that the only thing that appears to be making money at the moment is gonzo, aka the 800 pound gorilla, and the table scraps of a niche it leaves over for stylized production even has established companies scratching their heads wondering how to get any return on investment.

I guess you could always try sending demo reels to some of these established co's if you haven't already - I know of a few cases where persistence paid off simply by pestering often enough with demo material.
