I don't disagree and you're preachin to the choir, but you have two things working against you that are already obvious I'm sure: 1) in gonzo porn (i.e. the 9 out of 10 titles that make up Top-Ten adult DVD sales lists at any given time) the only real worries directors have are lights/battery/tape and whether there's enough of each - FORGET composing! Then when they dump the tape to timeline on the editing computer, they do little more than set a few chapter points and then print, and have a lackey do the menu authoring. 2) the industry is notorious for already "needing to know someone" to be able to get into it - catch 22.

I get the sense that people similar to you have often given up waiting for a red carpet to roll out and ultimately just started down the long road to doing their OWN production which then eventually got noticed by bigger companies, case in point Jules Jordan who started out on the wrong coast for porn production, working in a porn store, and then just started his own thing slowly, and now years later he's dominating sales charts.
