Mccain is a good man and all bickering aside I can honestly say this outcome has given me hope things will turn around for your economy and your troops can be brought home safe.
For those who need to stay and bring down all hell on the terrorists, they are provided with the protection and all they need to do what the world needs of them .

I will wait to see if there is much difference at all. Can't be worse than Bush.....I hope. He has Senate and House of Reps as well so we will now see what all this change was about.

^^^ Kinda what I was getting at, Like I said in another, thread, he could balance the budget, cure AIDS, and run in the winning touchdown in the Superbowl and they'd still say "Obama's a Muslim". I know lots of you guys down there really hate his guts. Give him a chance; you let Bush do his thing for eight years....

I am happy and proud but I am also feeling like "Now What" anxious to see.....I feel like something great is happening and I am going to live through it.
My parents (both over 64) cried as they watched the speech....It has to really be something to see what people their age and over saw and just one generation later.....achieve the highest position in the land...

The amusing paradox is middle eastern papers this morning already talking shit about Obama and not buying for a second he's a muslim simply by his name, and yet some Americans including a proud few with confederate flag pillowcases do believe it, so he can't win all over a mere middle name that's as common as Mike or John in the arabic language.
Fortunately he seems to thrive on adversity. In 2000 he booked a last-minute flight from Chicago to L.A. to attend the Democratic Convention, and then the Hertz car-rental counter denied his credit card. When he finally got to the Staples center he was denied entry at the door and then no one cared to give him a floor pass. Faithful to the cause, he stayed to watch the speeches on the Jumbotron outside the arena, and then a few days later before the finale, dejected, he flew home. He's come a long way in 8 years.

It has been amusing to me, to overhear conversations about town and read various friend's comments on the networking sites that would lead someone with no knowledge of current events to suspect that the Devil himself had been elected president.
The hand-wringing is just laughable, and illogical in light of the disgrace that has been perpetrated upon our country for the last 8 years. If Obama were to actually perform as badly as they fear, his ass will get tossed out in only 4 years. Everyone just calm the fuck down and get on with it.
