Elab, there are always plenty of paid volunteers. On BOTH sides.

I've seen the IBEW more or less force workers to man phones and even attend the Labor Day Parade. You do it or you don't work.

Congrats on the campaign. I worked on Clinton's in 1992 [and 1996] so I have had presidential joy on getting my guy in, but in all candor, I doubt it was anything like the joy you all must of had yesterday night.

I've never seen anything like the overwhelming joy I saw from so many different facets of society.

While I supported Obama over McCain, I am not drunk with victory. I have hopes for him, but I also have deep reservations. My hatred of Bush, the idiocy of invading Iraq, and the Chrazy Christian right leans me Democratic in general.

If McCain had not married himself to Bush in 2006 and pandered to the lowlifes [aka, the "basest" of the GOP], my vote may likely have been different. Though, the economy, the "terrorist" & the Joe the Plumber CRAP might have turned me to Obama anyway. Who knows ....

You volunteers did good. You electrified the population. Masses of people enjoyed expressing their right vote. I cannot believe such a thing was possible.

Maybe now Palin has an idea what "community organizers" can accomplish.

Enjoy your triumph!!

And, DEAR GOD I hope you're right about this guy .....
