The Liberal Party of NY has long been non-Liberal, and has died.*

The REAL liberal party of NY is the Working Families Party, which some of the crazier members of my union help to found in the late '90s just after the Charter change in NYC. And, these WFP people are REAL out-there liberals.

The Liberal Party of NY spent it's last 20 years undermining Democratic Party candidates in the guise of it's liberal past. For example, it guaranteed the election Al D'Amato in 1980 when they chose the dying Republican Jacob Javits as their candidate over the very liberal Liz Holtzman.

Rudy Giuliani was on the Liberal line when he ran against Dinkins. That fiasco help bring on its demise. With its run during the Giuliani years it exposed itself as a pure patronage machine. Over the last 20-25 years its endorsements for ALL candidates became based on money given to the party and jobs for party leaders.



I absolutely HATE the Liberal Party of NY.
