However, 95% of the article I find I summarize them bcs they tend to be too long so I do this on my news section. Thus I post the link to my site since the article I am presenting is a version a did of the original.

I guess I just got used to doing it for all. Since there are so many complains on this forum I will, from now on, copy and direct paste the original link if I don't do my own version of the article. However, if I do re-write it then it will be my news section.

Think that would be fair?

Personally, I would say link the original and feel free to summarize or editorialize it HERE.

If people are interesting in your point of view, they'll go visit your site without you directly driving them there perforce.

Being new and linking to one's own site doesn't sit well with the people on this board, and, I think, for good reason.
