Yeah, fuck polls man .
it sonly the electorate being surveyed on the collective consensus...

stupid stupid concept.

Try reading what I said:

Quote:

I wouldn't put too much faith in polls...the map is not the territory, and you can skew polls six ways from Sunday to encourage the result you're looking for. The only poll that actaully matters is the election.

It still stands.

Yep...tell me, do you actually know anything about polls and polling? You do realise that most polls are in fact commissioned by news outlets, yes? Of course, none of these news outlets have a particular political slant or anything, they're all 100% neutral, and they don't have any angle that they are trying to advance that a corroborating poll result would seem to enforce. No sir. They are 100% unbiased and unslanted, just like there are huge stockpiles of WMDs in Iraq.

It's quite easy to target various demographics/areas where you know you're going to get the result you're looking for. In an area that attracts a lot of African-Americans in the 18-30 age bracket, how many do you seriously think are going to be voting for McCain, or even just say that they will be voting McCain? Very few, I would wager.

Of course, you are also demonstrating a huge degree of good faith, bordering on naivete, when you accept that the people polled are 1) Actually registered to vote 2) Will actually bother to go out and vote 3) Will actually vote the way they said they would. Do the pollsters ask to see proof of voter registration? No...they just blindly trust that the person is going to do what they say, or is indeed even capable of doing it. As I have pointed out in another thread, what people say they are going to do and what actually ends up happening are two very different things. I still stand by my contention that polls are ultimately meaningless, and the election itself is the only one that carries any weight.

Oh, by the way, best to lay off questioning the intelligence of others until you master things like capital letters and punctuation, yeah?
