I wouldn't put too much faith in polls...the map is not the territory, and you can skew polls six ways from Sunday to encourage the result you're looking for. The only poll that actaully matters is the election.

Plus, people who take part in these polls are dipshits anyway...they give their time and information for free, which the pollsters then collate and turn into a product which they sell to the news outlets for profit and/or as a means of advertising their company name so that they get hired to conduct other polls in the future. Next time you get accosted by some clipboard-wielding zealot or telepollster, just reply 'Sure, how much are you paying?' and suddenly they aren't that interested in your opinion after all. Bizarre.
