The crestfallen repubs moping around at the office insist that had McCain simply chosen Condoleeza Rice instead of Palin (if he was hellbent on running with a female) that he may have fared much better. Not sure if that's true but Rice would've definitely been more qualified, aside from the attacks she would've had to endure for being a Bush cronie.
