Now here's my question: did Deep Throat REALLY launch the pr0n industry as we know it today? Since I was born in 75 I have no perspective on this. Thoughts on this?
I'm not too much older than you but I believe that Deep Throat was the first and still one of the only XXX films that got play in main stream theaters.
I seen a docu about it once, when it came out it became phenomenon, every one was talking about it openly, admitting they went to go see it (this was at a time when you would NEVER admit you went to see a XXX Porn film).
Because of all of the main stream attention, it made Porn somewhat legit. Up until then Porn was pretty much an underground business and the Talent for the most part were nameless, especially to the general public. Linda Lovelace was probably the first PW who became a "household name"
