I never heard of it till this thread. I looked it up. The plot premise seems weak. Japan creates synthetic blood so now Vampires are coming out of the closet into main stream society. Feels like a show that is going to be really preachy about racism.
I might download a few episodes after I get this weeks episodes of Dexter, Bleach and Naruto Shipuuden.

True Blood is alright.
If you like comic book type fiction and sucking check out VH1'S Celebrity Rehab. Steven Adler is Fucken.Spent, drool rag and all. You have to see it. Gary Busey and Jeff Conaway
also add to the "freak factor".

Meh. I'm still watching it, but I'm losing interest. Too much drama, not enough vampires.
- Watching Jason devolve into a lower life form with each episode has been amusing. Not to mention the sausage/meat thermometer bit.
- Not that she doesn't have reasons, but Tara may be one of the most unlikable characters in TV history.
- The show features a cast of the most unlikable characters I've ever seen.
- Vampires seem like dicks. I thought the churchies that got whacked had it coming until Suki went to the club, then I thought maybe they had the right idea.
- Bill may be the most boring Vampire of all time.
If I hadn't seen Anna Paquins boobs on the last episode I watched, I'd probably have given up on it right now. As it is, I'm giving it a couple more episodes to wow me, then I'm giving up.

Im really disappointed, cause Alan Ball is usually a genius writer, but it is bad.
And Lou, Im glad you like CAL, it's excellent, that's the little girl (the step daughter) from Hand that Rocks the Cradle. Her tits are perfection.

The word on the street is that Weiner wants to pull Mad Men from AMC and is shopping it to HBO and Cinemax. Not sure it can be done for next season, as Mad Men is under contract to AMC until the end of the third season. Strangely enough, the producers' and writers' agreement with AMC ended at the end of season 2.

True Blood does have a lot of tits on the show which is making it very watchable. I've watched every episode so far and I'm hoping they create something interesting with the mythology of vampires. So far I like the "out of the coffin" aspect of it.
It's not great but Alan Ball is a very good writer so I'm giving him a chance before I give up on it.
Californication is the best show on TV. Funny as hell and smart.

I"ve seen a couple episodes. I don't have enough backstory to know what is going on. I saw some black hustler hook up with a fat white guy, who, I guess is the head vampire and gay, and many characters seems to want the gay guy's blood to get off on. Very strange. My guilty pleasure is Dr. Drew's Celeb Rehab. Gary Busey, Rodney King, Tawny Kitan, Jeff Conaway, some ex member of GNR--it's a god damn trainwreck of a show. Busey thinks he's there to help people and not a patient. Conaway looks like he is on death's door. Kitan looks like a character out of that old Twilight Zone where everybody has to put on a mask at midnight to inherit money and when they take off the masks their faces are all pig-like.

I gotta get off this Trazodone. I heard Gary Busey takes it. I fear for what will happen to me if I keep taking it. 5 minutes alone with him will keep me off drugs forever. Or until I can find my cell phone and wallet. I lo-lo-looooove the story of when he grabbed his pup and snorted coke off of it, fuzzies and all. Finally good use for dogs.
But yeah in True Blood, humans get high off of "V", vampire blood, and to me it seems sort of like an acid trip. Humans drain vampires to get it or like Lafayatte they can "trade" favors to get some to sell.
I love this show and I love Celebrity Rehab too.
