As for the cat, the cat most certainly didn't want to play with your lady friend. I think it's a sign of jealousy, that he wants you to play with him, that he doesn't know what's going on, and cats are nocturnal, so they often like to "play" at night especially if you are playing. Be patient, try to play with kitty. He'll come around.
And yeah, lock him out during a booty call. Kitty don't need to see that
