Umm, No. I have not. But I'm not certain it would be all that straight if she did it herself, either.

One hypothesis (and that's ALL it is) is that the carving/branding took place after she'd been punched, then kicked. If she'd been kicked, she was likely on the ground. If she was on the ground, it wouldn't be that hard for an attacker to hold her head with his other hand. Again, just a theory.
