^^ +1. Funny how many think "no new taxes" is the be-all, end-all when it's just a diversion from being taxed roundabout. I.e. Bush's $600 "tax incentive" check that was a cute public relations stunt at taxpayer expense to shell-game and divert mass attention from other forms of taxation, like taxation by inflation. For people that *think* they paid less taxes in the last 8 years under republicans, now their money's worth less so they've been taxed far more than any percentage increase on income taxes. The trillions in debt (plus $700-$800b bailout) leaves the government no choice but print money, devaluing the dollar further - I call that a tax.
Imagine hundreds of billions loaded onto trucks at the back of a bank, and people in the front of the bank told "hey, over here - nevermind those trucks loading up - here's a $600 check, an IOU for the money we're taking for our pet projects like Iraq, and oh - NO NEW TAXES - tell all your friends!"
