Hence, why it's ugly. Some ppl like anything just because it's expensive. The British one wasn't bad though, but nothing special or unique. Still impersonal and obnoxious design, imho.

I thought the "Finest residence in Great Britain" was Buckingham Place. For her majesty may disagree.

I much prefer Beaux-Arts Classicism in home exterior design.

Beauty and charm can be found in almost any building or structure, depends on the purpose, function, personal preferences, etc.

Simplicity and functionality are often what I want in my abode(s), i.e. where I will be living and residing, whether for a day or a year. Mansions generally suck, and are a huge waste of real estate and resources. I find much more JOY and elegance in the simplest places, like a nice cozy little cabin in the Vermont mountains, or a beach cottage at the Cape or all the way out in Costa Mesa/Newport. I like My current two homes here in New England, and I did like my pseudo farm / modern family abode up in Redwood valley until i handed it off last year. I once had a typical Modern, angular, dead-tech residence in San Jose for a few years that made me depressed, as well as a cute little Mexican Casa in Glendale that was always either too hot or too cold, and I could never get rid of the ants.

And Like when I am on the road...I generally do NOT like big, huge overdone Hotels as travel choices, regardless of the fact I can afford them. I have stayed at NYC Waldorf twice in my life, and I hate it. It reminds me too much of OLD OLD hospitals ... and I HATE modern austere Silicon Valley Computer geek hotel structures that remind me of erector sets. I want a nice clean (most of all) room, with a COMFY bed, and a bathroom that is accessible with shower handles and seats for my handicapable needs and to be able to fuck a whore holding onto the shower bars or sitting on the seat. I like Westin Hotels because they have the nicest fluffiest beds despite their overly modern approach to lodging....I dont need an intercom link to a mexican cleaning lady who cant understand "SPILL" over the loudspeaker. And Most Holiday Inns, especially since the corporate directed mandatory makeover of 5 years ago, are nice enough and with the optimal balance of ameneties, customer service, modernity, price and (most of all) availability...but Burg Loves their breakfast buns and cinamon rolls.

Truth is, I could be happy in a TENT if I had a Whore waiting inside the tent to fuck me like a nomadic prince, a whore like Gigi, or Stoli, or Holly, or Gia, or Moxxie, or Cameron KinKEYS, or.....or.....

There is more seething annoyance in the above post than there is stridence in the all of the hot political threads combined, and that's something of a marvel if you really think about it.
