I've been lurking a bit. I had asked my boyfriend (I'm female) yesterday if he knew where I could find Hustler magazine pdf's (I usually finish to the phone sex ads, what's it to you?) and he asked if I knew that Max Hardcore had been arrested and is possibly getting 4 years. I ended up here while trying to learn more about the case. I had some mixed feelings about the whole thing. This thread has been pretty thought-provoking, and I thought I'd just add a few things.

This is probably what prompted me to say something. The thing is, consent doesn't begin and end when you sign a form. I'm not trying to be a feminazi or anything, but it really isn't that black and white. When girls on these videos say stop, or clearly want to leave, or are looking to the camera guy for help it's just not enjoyable for me to watch anymore. I know some of you may get off on that, but I'd rather not ponder whether I'm some sort of self-loathing female or morally bankrupt individual immediately after I cum. I like depravity, sure. I've done things similar to what is featured in Max Hardcore films (short of fists and vomit) and had a grand ol' time. Make me drink your piss, gag on your cock and eat your cum out of my own ass? Good times. But if a girl isn't comfortable and doesn't want to continue, then I'm sorry but a consent form isn't a free pass. You are a fucking asshole if you don't respectfully back off.

I don't care much for Max Hardcore at all to be honest. He strikes me as a bit of a scumbag who does have deeper issues with women. I think he does the industry a disservice and gives the lovely porn guys a bad name. Al Goldstein, you aren't a porn actor and you probably won't read this, but I love you.

HOWEVER, he isn't being charged because a porn actress didn't think he knew when to draw the line, is he? This is an OBSCENITY charge. This really isn't about his character, or his actions, or even his films at all. This is about self-righteous assholes demanding the right to dictate what you can or cannot do (or watch), because they personally find it offensive. That is what should be really offensive. This sort of thing is a slippery slope. Obscenity charges have no reason to exist since the public is obviously capable of determining what they think is obscene or not on their own. In this respect, I wish you luck Max. These charges are bullshit.
