As British journalists, we all adhere to what is called "an in-house style". That essentially is writing that reads the same, no matter who wrote it. The syntax is all the same, because the newspapers in the UK have to keep within a framework of "sameness".
Okay, I have been accused of being Rump. Bob Danes, a friend of mine, was accused of being Rump too, and he was banned from ADT.

So please don't confuse syntax and British journalism with a writing style of a certain individual.
