Do NOT pop zits. It makes your face more prone to scarring.

There is a simple effective way to do zits and boils without leaving any more scarring than the infection will cause on its own. It just requires effort and since most people are lazy and impatient, they dont do it but use the WRONG method instead.

DONT squeeze INward when dealing with zits or Boils that have an IMpacted core (that chunk in the middle that comes out SOMETIMES when you squeeze.)


1) First and foremost, SOAK the thing with wet compresses that are AS HOT AS YOU CAN STAND, the hotter the better. Soak for 20 minutes.

2) Hopefully there is some type of HEAD on whatever you are popping. Without a head, you are running a HUGE risk if you try to pop it. If there is NO head, that means the infection has not been contained and adequately walled off by the body's defenses sufficiently, and if you pop it you will almost undoubtedly spread it into surrounding tissue and end up with a HUGE infection instead of a zit or boil.

3) When it has formed a head and is ready to be popped, YOU must use the following methodology to pop it to minimize scarring.

-- using a sterilized PIN, make a VERY slight nick in the center of the head, just enough to form an almost UNSEEN opening in the head....if a little pus/fluid comes out after you nick it with the pin, so much the better.

-- place your forefinger and thumb of one hand at the figurative "8 oclock and 10 oclock" position about half an inch from the zit head at the center, and the other forefinger and thumb at "2 oclock and 4 oclock"....then press DOWN witht he four fingers and PULL OUTWARD (not inward) away from the center of the zit head....it is as if your are PULLING the skin on each side of the zit away from each other. this forces the contents of the infection, especially the IMPACTED necrotic core at the center OUTWARD without running the risk of forcing it into the surrounding tissue, and it DOESNT destroy the body's natural "wall" it has built up around the infection that caused the zit to form in the first place.


Try it if you dont already use this method. I havent had a zit requiring such attention in many many years, but as recent as a YEAR ago, I did pop a big, painful zit of the shoulder blade of a whore who was leading a VERY unhealthy life at the time, smoking MEth and eating loads of sugar. WHen I pressed down and OUT on her zit, I could Feel the vibes of the "POP" as the necrotic core came out...it didnt Shoot out but it just popped and protruded halfway out of the HOLE/pocket it was formerly in, and I had to gently extract it the rest of the way out using a needle. It was 1/8" in diameter and shaped like a tiny football. Her pain relief was instantaneous, and I washed it out with diluted H2O2 ... and stuck a pointy end of a tissue into the tiny deep hole formerly occupied by the zit.

That sounds like the ideal way of handling it Burg, but damn was that gross to read!

I just popped a bit zit that was in my nostril, it was kinda like a booger. So that 8:10 and 2:40, is that AM or PM?

I take medicine that causes acne. Any Recommendations?

I use proactive and oxy pads. Works pretty good. I break out in between seasons like spring to summer and fall to winter. I dont have full blown acne just random big giant cystic zits and sometimes but rarely I get little clusters of tiny ones. I dont pop them they are way to painful to touch. When I get cystic ones on my forehead I get horrible headaches.

Wow that would be so hard... I always thought it was greasy foods or my fucked up hormones. Or maybe even not washing my face enough, even though I wash it every other hour. Except if I am out which is hardly ever.

For me what causes it is meds which can't be avoided.

I don't know if they still prescribe it, but when I was a teenager with acne problems, the doctor set me up with Accutaine. It dried out my skin like a mother, but it did seem to permanently reduce the amount of acne I got.

NOOOOO. Accutane will fuck up your teeth. So will tetratricyclyne.

i did three rounds of accutane my freshman year of college. the results were dramatic; nothing else even touched it. my mother strong-armed my former pediatrician to prescribe it for me (no one else would). the super dry skin was horrible, though. no matter what i did, most of my body was cracked and bleeding for months. hotness!

where did you hear that accutane will screw up your teeth?

You gotta try my toothpick method. Be a surgeon on yourself for a minute or two.

I think Burg summed up the use of Accutane perfectly. I had a friend who used it and it worked miracles for him. I was actually shocked to see the drastic, positive change. If only all cure-alls worked so effectively. Only side-effect he suffered besides dry skin was brittle hair. He would always wear a ballcap, and one day he noticed that he had literally been snapping the hairs at his hairline. He ended up just buzzing his head for the duration of the treatment so he didn't have to deal with it.
