Australian musicians and actors who have lived in LA always say they love the city although it has its dark side. Are they referring to the porn industry?
I think its probably more referring to despair if you can't find work and people looking to exploit others. In an interview Naomi Watts said she was even considering suicide after living in LA and being unemployed for 5 years before finally getting her big break. An aussie singer said her first manager seemed really nice and cool until he told her one of the conditions of him managing her was that she had to sleep with him! She was like "What?!!"

It's not because of porn. It's because it's Los Angeles! lol But the issue with Naomi Watts is an issue with HER, not because of Hollywood or not finding work. And the singer whose manager gave her that proposition, that happens everywhere, not just Hollywood and porn. It's not just the entertainment industry that has assholes saying sleep with or else.

Assuming for a moment that Ben isn't the most fiendishly clever alt on XPT, Dude, all cities have their dark side. Always have, always will.

For some good, old school LA noir, I highly recommend that you pick up the works of Raymond Chandler.

Naomi Watts is a hottie and a decent actress, we all have issues, Im sure she just said that about killing herself, many people say it but dont follow through. Just ask Kara Bare.

I thought Watts was the dark side of L.A.
