I saw 483,000 bucks just disappear.....whomp! there they go!
Feels tingly actually.
I've already told the family, Santa Burg is dead, X-mas will be limited to 1 in 10 items on their lists. This is totally fucked up. I had taken a consulting project here in Connecticut, and now I am looking to expand this and basically go back to work fill time almost.
I've lost more in the last 2 months in paper value on my net worth than I made the last 2 years.
I am going to have to bargain shop for my whores now, and will definitely be curtailing it to once every 6 weeks instead of twice a month. My nuts already ache...good thing a lot of them are hurting too.

Same here, and I work full time. I was hoping to retire at 55 in about 4 years, but now I may have to work another year or two. But, I guess my dream is possibly delayed, not shattered like a lot of others. I just can't see a rebound of this magnitude in a few short years. Plus, my dollars buy less, now, and my home equity has nearly evaporated.

Here we go....object lesson #1 in wealth accumulation and retention.
First off My Nigga.....in the span of a week, losing almost half a mil in net worth WILL capture the attention of even the richest SLOBS....a WEEK bro, a fucking WEEK. This after scrambling and planning and number crunching and spending hours each day for the last 2 months analyzing various banks and institutions, as well as a myriad of other investment vehicles and strategies...basically this economy is the ultimate Nightmare scenario.
I am still in much better shape than the VAST majority of people, if for no other reason I am totally DEBT free and OWN the places I crash, cook, sleep and fuck at/in/on....I still live pretty simply and other than Hookers and strippers and nurses (oh my!), I dont blow lots of money.
It is just that, things have reached a crisis level and look to actually get worse in the coming months...so thats my predicament. I cant keep blowing 8, 10K a month on my favorite whores while telling my little ones they can only have SOME of the things on their X-mas Lists to Santa. Paying for their private school (ungodly Catholic Schools, besieged by pedophile lawsuits, have JACKED the fucking tuitons up like you wouldnt believe, and Uncle Burglar's EDUCATION-FIRST fiscal policy is feeling the pinch) has to remain inviolable. And more importantly, I want to have a nice BLOB of cash reserves to take advantage of things RIGHT away when they bottom out and start to improve...4 years from now when things are humming along again, I plan to be far wealthier than I am now. Because now, at my age, with my experience and contacts and what not, I CAN do so, I CAN take advantage of the inevitable rebound(s) to eventually get back to where I am ordering take out pussy ONCE a week....
Fuck Hugh Hefner, and his blonde bimbos of boredom (GOD they are so boring!) I want 2 or 3 NASTY Intelligent RAUNCHY verbally-engaging SLUTS to have around to make my final years the absolute BEST, the most stimulatingly FUCKED UP of my life.
Gigi - Stoli - Gia J would be my First choice as Burgs Sluts Next Door.

Well seriously, you know WHY I specifically mentioned NEWPORT beach? Because, as fucked up as it seems and sounds, I have never been CLOSER to being able to outright BUY a nice house right on the Peninsula as I am right now in this GOD awful economy. There are a plethora of foreclosed domiciles that the banks are YEARNING to unload at ridiculous fractions of the former values....I am going to be in COsta Mesa in November and I am planning on having some serious chats with several banks and their loan officers/DAMAGE CONTROL teams to see what i can talk them into or out of....if a bank is offering a (formerly $950k house) for a steep discount, I am going to go in and offer (paid in full, NO financing or loans) 65-70% of whatever that steep discount is...maybe even LESS if I can find some sketchy problems or detriments about the property.
I feel good about my chances of one of these desperate fuckers saying "YES!! YES!! Please, take this fucking thing off my books, have it with our complments! Thank you Thank you sir, now my slutty gold digging wife who is fucking the Mexican Pool Guy will be able to enjoy another week of Manicures across the bay on Fashion island, before she flat out dumps my ass and takes half of what i got left, which aint much, and is my ONLY satisfaction knowing SHE knows we aint got much left....by the way Mr Burglar would you like a complimentary CountryWide Coffee Mug and some WaMu pens? Yeah the CDIC, it covers up to $100,000 for savings and chequing. Only $4000 on mutual funds or stocks.

As for the FDIC....you do know the $250K is a temp stop gap measure..... as per their site- The legislation authorizing the increase in deposit insurance coverage limits makes the change effective October 3, 2008, through December 31, 2009. ------------- So by that summary the entire global world market will be stabilized financially by New Years Day 2010. Why would they have that provision in there in the first place?

I'm down around 1/3. Unfortunately I was light on cash when this started - essentially fully invested - and this slo-mo crash was totally unexpected so I didn't try to reallocate (always before things happened so fast that going to cash just meant missing the early recovery).
Oh well - some days it goes up, some days it goes down, and some days you get bitch-slapped. This will takes a while to recover from.

Wow, what a roller coaster. Have we found bottom, and now headed back up? Scheech, I hoped to make 10-12%/yr., not in a day. But it will take several days like this to get back to where I was.
No roof on the house this year, and I will wait 6 months, same as cash, to pay for the motorcycle. After Burg's post and the rally today, I am starting to regain my optimism about retiring in 2012.
BTW, beautiful 85 degree day here in Ohio, leaves are turning, I went for a long ride. Life is good.
