I can't help but think many accounts on SOSI haven't been within 100 miles of any so-called "sex industry", and many are there out of housewife boredom, gaining a perverse pleasure in being "sympathetic victims" by projecting themselves into the role of victim in the stories being posted. It's not much different than a man having a sympathetic pregnancy alongside his wife's, a mother that harms her child to illicit sympathy (Munchausen's Syndrome By Proxy), or a person complaining they're "a child of divorce" despite already being age 29 when their parents actually divorced.

I picture multi-ton beasts sitting around in their robes playing den mother and hearing out all the "shocking" details of survivor stories so they can get all wound up and excited about jesus and his magic tricks in formulating their "compassionate" responses. "We're here for you girl! Don't hold back on the <juicy> details - get it all off your chest!"

I could be wrong about all this, but this is what I read between the lines. If there are really any people on there that feel helped in some small way, that's great, though unfortunately all they've done is substituted one pool of insane codependents for another.
