Here's this independent's view: put aside the partisan rhetoric, 95 Democrats voted against it. You should thank the GOP leadership for saving the U.S. from becoming a socialist welfare state and putting all the burden on the taxpayers like the President & the Dems initially wanted when trying to push through a flawed bill. Republicans want the companies to pay it back, Bush & the Democratic majority wanted the taxpayers to foot the bull. Pay attention, the devil is in the details.
