After watching the debate, I think McCain won by a cunt hair's breadth, perhaps because I had such low expectations.
Confidence in one's bullshit usually beats nuanced bullshit.*
However, it was disconcerting to observe his inability to look at Obama. It was like he was on urban mass transit and didn't want any trouble and just wanted to get home (to any one of his seven homes).

I think the most egregious statement was, because I'm a huge fan of Rick Atkinson's ongoing Liberation Trilogy**:
"Claim: McCain said Gen. Dwight Eisenhower wrote a resignation letter the night before the Normandy invasion in World War II.
Fact: Eisenhower wrote a letter taking full responsibility for the consequences of the invasion, but did not write a letter of resignation, according to the National Archives."
I guess part of McCain's 894th out of 899 ranking at the Naval Academy was a failing grade in American Military History.
