She comes from an Indian family, but is from the area around Toronto. There are tons of Indians, Pakistanis etc. in the Great White North. They are notoriously conservative and most I grew up with came from families where education came first; I'd say from nothing other than my own observations they're the most right-leaning minority up here. And they are strict as hell with their daughters. Maybe that's why you don't see a ton of them in the biz (although that kind of stuff is often a cause as opposed to a deterrent).
