Arrow Productions film from 1972 Deep Throat has still grossed more than this year’s blockbuster hit. Batman and the Joker want revenge so they are planning a rematch.

To be precise, Warner Bros. wants an award -- or 10 -- for "The Dark Knight." So the studio plans to re-release its blockbuster Batman sequel in January, the height of Academy Awards voting season.

But with the title set to hit DVD in December, it's now apparent anyone hoping the Batman sequel would soar to "Deep Throat" heights will be deeply disappointed. "Dark Knight" already ranks as the third-highest-grossing movie ever, after “Deep Throat’s” 600 million in domestic box office and "Titanic's" of $600.8 million in domestic box office.

“I think that Deep Throat could have blown away Titanic if we didn’t have 1972 dollar movie ticket prices. Now days it cost twice as much to go see a movie,” claims Arrow’s Marketing Director Robert Interlandi.

Deep Throat never made $600 million, and any one with a drop of common sense puts the number at a fraction of that; even the $600 million figure includes all sorts of weird video rental revenues (claims of $350 for a VHS tape). Somehow the mob running it means it really made the full amount and wasn't inflated to launder money? Sure.

Just typical of the inflated adult industry revenue bullshit like AVN's spouted for years without a drop of real evidence. All far-flung assumptions and calculations.
