I'm curious about something. The bailouts this year are presently over $600 billion. Our federal deficit for last year was over $400 billion if my memory serves correct. So a little 1st grade math makes me think that the deficit for 2008 will be over $1 trillion dollars. Assuming of course that our deficit in other areas is similar, and there is no evidence to suggest otherwise.
How in the fuck does an economy survive will a $1 trillion dollar deficit? I know that supply sider's think that deficits don't matter. But $1 trillion, that doesn't matter?
Bush has been a massive failure of a president. But I wonder if his legacy will be an unnecessary war in Iraq or sending our country into another Great Depression.
