Not really surprised as her party have some of the best writers. She didn't write one sentence of this on her own. It's all about the spin. The writers did a good job.
Her youngest daughter spitting on her hand and trying to slick down the retards hair was priceless.

The more i see her, the more I find this woman compellingly attractive. She just has "That look", that certain something that just does it for me.... Women in Business Attire is one of my secret fetishes. One time, I actually went out shopping with a whore buying several business outfits for her "mainstream" occupation as a Salesperson at a Benz Dealership in the Bay Area. I had a boner the whole time. Our new Vice Prez wannabe looked awesome last night giving her speech...she obviously knows the most important secret for a woman when it comes to dressing for business and looking professional-yet-classy-yet-sexy-yet NOT overdone.....Simple, solid, comfortable style. Like I said, I'd love to see baby G, or Holly, or Stoli, or any of our other resident hotties dressed to run a high profile business, like a Department Store or a casino. Except Gigi ... I just want her barefoot and (not) pregnant in the kitchen, on her knees under the kitchen table blowing me while I read the WSJ and sip my organic fruit smoothie in the morning. GIA! What is your favorite Women's Brand business attire? I think either Anne Klein, Nanette Lepore, or Lafayette-148-New York are the best all-around brands in terms of quality, price and style choices. There are several Nanette Lepore skirts I can think of right now that you, and your booty, would absolutely cause any business meeting to derail if you had to stand in front and point to Bar Graphs and Pie charts .... oh fuck, what visions of board room sex prance through Burglar's head right now.

I wish the letters R and D were stricken from the English alphabet then maybe people would actually listen to the speeches. Everyone here whose political ideology is blatantly out in the open's responses have been as predictable as a Harlem Globetrotters-Washington Generals game.

I didn't expect her to be a disaster, but I was surprised by her charisma and poise on camera for a relative noob. I'm inclined to agree with Charin though. I think she did a great job getting the base fired up, but I don't think she won over any "undecided"s. All the Toby Keith jingoism, and self-deprecating references to herself as a "gal" might cinch the deal for RedStaters who were saying "who the fuck is Sarah Palin?" a week ago... but it wont win over any Hillary voters. What was noteworthy was how adroitly she turned the negative press to her advantage. Painting herself as the plain-spoken, hard-working wife and mother, viciously maligned by the liberal, elitist press [ who didn't see that coming? ]. The game for the Obama camp now is not to let her get too much national sympathy. If they're smart, they wont touch the family shit, and keep the campaign focused on issues.

I just love it when eblab gets flustered when the facts hit him in the face.
It's almost as funny as David Axelrod whining that Palin was "parroting what she'd been told". I wonder what Joe "Admitted Plagiarist" Biden has to say about that.
Speaking of Axelrod: He also "questioned the emphasis on McCain's years as a prisoner of war, saying the Arizona senator's history already was well known."
If McCain's Vietnam record doesn't matter, could somebody explain this photo of Obama and Biden at the Iowa Democratic Caucus?
Does that logo seem familiar? It should. It's the Flag of South Vietnam.

of course the fact that McCaine was a POW does count and is very meaningful but it is not a get out of jail (no pun intended) free card for every issue. Sorry but i am not understanding the significance of the South Vietnam flag thing.

Of course you don't. It hasn't been spelled out for you on Kos yet.
The point is that for all of Axelrod's protests to the contrary, they were clearly worried about McCain's record from the get go. If they weren't, why use the RVN flag as the logo for their Caucus? It's an unusually distinct design, one whose meaning is hardly ambiguous.

Ummm. No.
Look closely at what Biden did. He gave her faint praise and said she would be a good debater. He is raising the bar high for the debates so she will fall hard.
The only reason some people are so positive about her speech was because expectations were so low.
I found Palin's speech cynical, disengenious, and devoid of any kind of positive message. Yeah, it was plenty of red meat and she made the home team estatic. But I get the feeling she turned off just as many independents and "thoughtful" Republicans.
She also insulted community organizers across the nation. JimB, I recall you mentioning that you did some voter registrations in "depressed" neighborhoods. She just spit in your face. And the people you tried to reach out to are clearly of no interest to her (or the current Republican party).
And the irony is, she's not her "own woman" here. She is the mouthpeice for the Bush/Cheney/NeoCon/Fundamentalist wing of the Republican party. They wrote that speech and she delivered it with her smug demeanor.
She might do well in a JOMG (jizz on my glasses) episode, though.
And take some time out and try to catch one of Barack's town halls. Plenty of specifics and a very keen grip on a diverse set of issues. The details of his plans can always be found on the barackobama.com website.

Tritone's "thoughtful" Republicans=people who are really democrats but they like to start all their posts on the internet with "As a lifelong Republican" so people would take them seriously.

She is only going to have three kids running around Number One Observatory Circle(the residence of the Vice Prez) since the oldest son is in the Army, and the oldest daughter will most likely be off in Alaska since she would be hounded by the press 10X worse than the Bush twins if she lived in Washington. The husband would be the one taking care of the three little ones day to day and two of them would be in school most of the time.

I believe that many people tuned in to hear her speech last night simply because she's been painted as a trainwreck-in-progress and America does love a good trainwreck. But Neilsen released the numbers today and they are pretty damned impressive when you look at turnout for her speech versus the Dem numero uno. Keep in mind these numbers are for VIEWERSHIP only, no bearing on votes (well, not explicit anyways).
Palin beat Obama in Persons 55+ and multi person white households; in the 18-34 demo (Obamas home base) Palin drew 81% of his audience; In the 18-49 demo she drew 88% of his audience; Palin's speach beat Biden's for viewership in all categories except multi-person black households.
The Sara Palin speech generated 37.2 million viewers, just a 1.1 million viewers short of Barack Obama's record-breaking speech on Day 4 of the Democratic Convention. The Palin speech was carried on only six networks while the Obama speech was carried on ten (including BET, TV One, Univision and Telemundo).
Palin attracted a large female audience (19.5 million women, or 4.9 million more than Day 3 of the Democratic Convention).
Ratings for viewers 55+ (25.2) continue to be about ten times higher than for teens (2.2)
Day 3 for the GOP attracted more Hispanic viewers (1.4 million) than Day 3 of the Democratic Convention (1.2 million), even though Univision and Telemundo did not carry the speech.
Oh and this link is pretty interesting ....it's a live blog of former Hillary supporters and their play-by-play of Palin's speech. The comments range from absolute rabid fangrrl anti-Palin to "wow, I love her earrings."

Political Realities May Pose a Test to Obama’s Appeal to Young Voters
DENVER — Ian Bowman-Henderson scraped together $300 — cashing in his high school graduation checks — to pay for a round-trip plane ticket from Cincinnati to Denver for the Democratic National Convention. But as the week wore on, he said he was not sure if the money had been well spent.
Mr. Bowman-Henderson, 19, and some other young voters who were part of the nucleus of Mr. Obama’s presidential bid said the convention process had left them marginalized as more centrist views on issues like offshore drilling took hold.
“We understand the politics of compromise and that Senator Obama has to be the president of everyone, not just the president of youth,” Mr. Bowman-Henderson said. “But we picked him because we didn’t want the same kind of politics — that’s what set him apart.”
Representative Kendrick B. Meek, Democrat of Florida, acknowledged that the Obama campaign would have to walk a tightrope to consolidate support among Democrats while reaching out to independents and Republicans.
And those efforts were further complicated with John McCain’s selection of Gov. Sarah Palin of Alaska as his running mate. Governor Palin, at 44, lends the Republican ticket a youthful and historic feel. She may energize the conservative base of her party while also appealing to swing voters and younger Republicans.

Tri stop being a hater for one minute that speech was awesome......
That speech hit hard, she stated her resume which actually is fuller than Obama's and you know she didn't slight community organizers but she did state that being mayor of a town in Alaska does take more responsibility......she was showcasing his slim resume while and promoting hers.......
you should take some time and go to Senate.gov and look up legislation sponsored by Obama....
and because I don't drink the kool aid I havn't followed up but has he ever explained all his "present" votes.
cause it seems we have here a legislative who has no record of legislating and with all the "present" vote.....Will he actually execute the power of the executive branch or simply talk his indecision to death....

I totally forgot about Zac Posen, I havent been in a Bloomingdales in several Months and I used to see their shit in there all the time...but I do remember back in 2006 at AEE/AVN Vegas, talking with one of my non-whore friends who worked executive level in the gaming industry; we were eating and she had met up with me after she just finished shopping .... she was showing me what she had purchased and she had a Zac Posen blazer she had just bought, the price tag showed $1988.99 ... fucking hottness I'd rather blow 5K on busines attire for a whore if she asked, than half that amount on friggin bullshit like hooker shoes, fragrances, earrings, Oxycontin, Xanax or 7/11 money orders at 2 am so she can pay her <insert name of overdue bill here> because her checking account was closed for being $1,168.45 overdrawn for more than 15 days..... Be that as it may, DO not get the impression I am voting for Sarah Palin or agree with her politics in anyway...I just want to drop a fuckin' load across her smiling face and "Lewinsky" her Zac Posen Blazer Twill

Would she be getting the cheers & applause if she looked like Janet Reno? I think we all know the answer on this one.
Truth is, the fact that she is moderately attractive is letting her get away with more. Listen to the audio only and you will hear a condescending bitch that spoke to the American people like they were a classroom of 5 year olds. Even if she didn't write the speech, her tone should have clued you in to how she is going to speak to other world leaders.
Give McCain credit, he knew if he brought her in, she was going to get way more attention than any other candidate he could find. The problem is, once they start to hear the substance of what the republicans are offering, people will get very weary of the dog & pony show.
They are trying to run on a platform of change, but the truth is, they will give us the same crap we have had for 7 years. During the Bush administration, there has been nothing done pro-actively, it is all re-active. Nothing was done to prepare for 9-11, guess what, we over compensate by taking on Afghanistan & Iraq.
By going into Iraq with no plan, they let the entire country of Iraq fall into chaos. The chaos in Iraq allowed OPEC to raise the price on oil. The high price of oil now has us looking for oil anywhere we can find it, including the Arctic Wildlife Refuge. The fact is, they are running on a platform that was brought on by their own incompetence.
Do you think letting them have another 4 years of "Change" is going to work? No fucking way.
The only changes they made are higher gas prices, higher level of fear, and higher cost of living.
Granted, Obama is an idiot also, but at least I can expect him to tap into some of the resources that Clinton had during his 8 years of moderate success. I would have rather seen Gore take a chance at winning another election myself. Just imagine how much change we could have had if he won in 2000.
Instead, we went from peace to war, & rich to poor (unless you were associated with an oil company or Haliburton), & we are now wishing we could have back all that we had before the Bush regime started. We had change, and I think we have had enough of it.
I would love to be called a "flip-flopper" if it insinuated that I would like to go back to the way things were back when Bubba was in office. Having the common sense to realize you made a mistake is not bad, as long as you have learned from your mistakes. Unfortunately, the current administration does not acknowledge they made mistakes to begin with. Voting for a 72 year old, with the same mentality as George W. Bush is not going to bring us into the future, it's going to bring us another 4 years of war, high gas prices, & fear of the next attack.
If the republicans were so concerned with "alternative energy sources", then what the fuck have they been doing for the past 7 years?
Change is exactly what I've got. About 47 cents is all I have on me.
