Brock vs Couture I'm only a casual fan so far, but the first MMA fight I ever saw was when Couture came out of retirement to grind Sylvia into a grease spot on the mat. This could be a hell of a fight. Somebody is gonna get humble pie for dessert.

The Kimbo vs. Shamrock fight is going to be a joke no matter who wins. Shamrock has nothing to lose and Kimbo has everything to gain. Dana White still won't give Kimbo a shot at the UFC as Shamrock is no longer fighting regularly in the sport (thanks to Tito Ortiz). Kimbo needs to go away. The CBS fight was simply awful. Kimbo has zero ground game.
I have seen Brock's two PPV fights and it wasn't until his second fight that he could be considered legitimate because he knew his ground game (which consisted of smothering his opponent) would get him a victory. Anyone who saw Tim Sylvia/Randy Couture fight knows that Couture can win against larger opponents.
I will say this though; Brock is a big fucker. I went to a Gold's Gym in DC the day following a WWE event at the MCI Center and he was there. He was massive. That's a big kid.

Well, he doesnt.
Every real mma fan knows that Kimbo is just a circus show, so far.
The cop he lost with was Gannon.
Gannon tried a fight in ufc vs some average joe, lost bad and had to spend a couple of weeks in a hospital.
Kimbo might be better now, he's training with Bus Rutten and he sure gonna improve his ground game at least on the defensive side.
Ken Shamrock lost 7 of his last 8 fights or something like that, he can only win on the ground...dunno what is going to happen with Kimbo, Ken doesnt have a very strong chin, anything can happen.

Yeah i think it was a bit of a mistake putting so much of the company's future on Kimbos Shoulders. EliteXC needs to start looking for an alternative to carry the flag and I do not think that women's matches will be enough. I realize it would be an expensive move but it would be one that would solidify their standing- sign Fedor, at least for a few matches as soon as they can ( not knowing if he is currently under any contracts). Now he is a great fighter that you can hang a rep on, might not be the personality that Kimbo is but in the long run it would do more for elite and the sport in general. It might also get more shows on CBS, especially since we all know Kimbo's run cannot last forever.

LOl- weird stuff tonight so far. Shamrock gets a cut prefight so he can't go, gina can't make weight and has to shed clothes behind towels to do so. Maybe it is because of the blatant shilling of Kimbo but I am seeing conspiracies here  BTW- apparently elite and affliction are working together a bit i guess so maybe fedor coming is not that far off

Gina looked pretty good. Not a seriously entertaining fight but still well done. Kimbo has just finally been shown to the masses for what he was, someone way over-hyped, but I'd still like to see him fight again. I can't believe people actually talk about Jake Shields as if he is in the same league as GSP. He is a good fighter but no where near elite level yet. It's weird even Arlovski looked less than what he usually is despite the win. Still a bad night of fights is better than a good day of just about anything else. And as a random public service announcement if you are ever involved in a street brawl and someone pulls out bear spray, don't go pee on a tree right after with the shit still on your hands afterward...

Was Kimbo actually a black rallying point? I hope not, I admit i liked watching him fight but he IS NOT a MMA fighter. A good street fighter does not translate into MMA. I will also give Kimbo credit after the fight he wasn't a sore loser that i saw, i really thought he would be a punk bully and have sour grapes after he lost but he was pretty cool. So Kudos to him.

and the white kid is not even a heavyweight, he's just a LHW fighting at 205, 30libs lighter than Kimbo...and Petruzelli had his last fight one year ago...and in fact he knocked Kimbo out in 11 seconds not 14, at 4.49 on the stopwatch the Referee was already all over Kimbo and Petruzelli was cheering on the other side of the octagon.
After a while, on the other side, Kimbo was still grappling with the referee and Jared Retard Shaw was outside the octagon screaming and whining with the ref about some hit behind the head of Kimbo...LOL that made my night.

Can't say for sure. Looks like his record is 0-2, but both of the guys he fought had over 20 fights. One of the guys he lost to, Diego Saraiva, was 4-2 at the time of the fight and actually went on to fight in the UFC, but he lost all three fights.
Also looks like he hasn't fought since June 06, so he may be out of the game.

Fedor's management are fools. UFC was offering him a flat $5mill per fight, and they turned it down. They want points in the company, and no stable company is going to do that. Dana isn't going to give away the farm just because some foreign gangsters are worried about their Golden Goose getting killed.

Come on, Brazilian isn't a race, it is a nationality... and their ethnicity is mostly latino/latina.
Anyways, Tritone, there are some notable black fighters besides Rampage, Rashad... and Kimbo. Jonny "Bones" Jones (light heavyweight) and Anthony "Rumble" Johnson (welterweight) are two very good fighters who will be contenders very soon. Mo Lawal is also a very good up and comer. They seem to have big things ahead of them.
Brett Rogers is a good heavyweight prospect (ranked in the top 10) and just KO'd Andrei Arlovski... but his progress is about to come to an abrupt stop.
The only division without a good black fighter is the lightweight division. I can't think of a single good black lightweight fighter.

Kimbo was never in much danger of being knocked out, but I was afraid he was going to die of suffocation before Herb Dean finally called it for Big Country.

Yeah, I saw it. Didn't live up to what I was hoping for. I am actually kind of rooting for Kimbo now. Not that he shows any signs of becoming anything in mma but as a person that show has humanized him a bit. I wonder why he doesn't just give up on mma and try to go the mike tyson route? It would be easier to get him some skills in the ring than on the ground as a heavyweight.

Once Kimbo is in real fights, they will match him up with guys that have similar skills. Many fans love seeing 2 big huge guys clubbering each other. I'm not saying they are going to try feeding him cans, but he won't be seeing many wrestlers or BJJ guys in his first few fights. He's training with a real team now, not just a guy trying to pick up some cash, so I think his ground game will improve some.

Kimbo def.comes of as a thoughtful guy. You gotta remember that ELITEXC and UFC both approached him. You would have to be a fool to turn down the former's cash and the latter's exposure/experience.
I don't dislike Roy Nelson, but it wasn't like he beat a top ten guy last night. He seemed a little too proud of that win.

Yeah, that fatass Roy Nelson also tried to crush Andre Arlovski under his huge beer belly. Luckily, in that fight, the ref actually stood it up. Arlovski then proceeded to light up Nelson like a Christmas tree and KO'd him. It was glorious.
