Staying in an underground bunker would be stupid and probably suicidal. Being several floors up in a modern office building is probably about the best place to be since all you have to deal with are the windows, and that for only a couple of hours tops.

I disliked the lack of comments on water. Any list of supplies that doesn't mention drinking water early & often is useless. The focus on weapons is misplaced, although I admit there were a lot of Blackwater rent-a-cops around to make me uncomfortable.

A chainsaw is vastly more useful than a rifle, and if you manage to get a Bobcat beforehand they'll be calling you a Hero in the neighborhood for years.

The longest period I ever had to go without electricity was 18 days IIRC (our camping gear & Sterno stoves worked great). We were never flooded out, though at only 12' above sea level we did keep an ax handy...
