Clyde would have no idea that the hamster was in any way food.

And, he's too old to chase anything.

The only way he'd attack it is if it was hogging his favorite place to sleep. But, there's a good chance he might just snuggle up next to it if it's cold or just look sad & choose a different place to nap.
