One of my hams was paraplegic. He had an accident right after I got him. I came home from a liquor store run and found little Booger screaming. He had climbed to the top of his aquarium (terrarium) and had somehow gotten himself caught and broke his back. I had a crippled hamster for a year. I thought you might appreciate it.

ii. Don't have parties, if the hamster finds out it has not been invited it will think that it is unpopular and become enraged
iii. Don't stare at any visible hamsters, hamsters hate to lose staring contests
iv. Don't stare at the sun......
v. Don't loot dead hamsters, hamsters need their earthly possessions in the underworld
vi. Don't run around saying "Woo! Look at me, I am a hamster and boy am I tough! Woo!" while waving your arms around; obviously this is abrasively insulting to the hamsters
vii. Don't derive or integrate complex functions while hamsters are watching, they will covet your intellect. Especially not cosecants, hamsters hate cosecants.

If you or anyone you know thinks you have seen a hamster: You/They haven't!

If you or anyone you know when asked if they can dance replies "I used to could so I reckon I might could again if I tries," You/They can't!

My sister had some field mice as pets at some point. They died of old age and actually got arthritis before dying (she took them to the vet). At least they died in their sleep. Not a bad way to go - beats gsw, trauma, heart attack.

I have only ever destroyed mice. (meaning stomped to death.) Are they actually good pets?

I dont know if bornyo is just fucking with me or if he misunderstood me but my rabbit did in fact die recently. I somewhat regret being so emotionally distraught and consumed with guilt that I labeled myself a horrible caretaker and let Jeff run with it, because I actually do take good care of my rabbits. Unfortunately when bunnies get sick it is far from obvious and this one slipped from me. It really sucks. But I know as a female on this forum and therefor a whore and therefore a inept caretaker of animals, everyone can and will draw their own conclusions. Thats fine. I will miss him tremendously either way.

I don't know about domesticated rabbits but 70% of wild ones don't see their first birthday.
