I think that over the years (after the eradication of MADD and a few deaths of some stupid kids)...yeah, it would be like it is in France.
That is MY opinion about what I saw as an underaged girl able to "drink" for the "first time" and how I handled it.
I think it would be the same here after a few years.
this is my last post in this thread because this shit is silly stupid. chlstli, you dodged my question above about college students older than 21 that binge drink. what's the answer for them? lowering the age limit? and again, with all due respect, fuck france, that has zero relevance to this argument. as I said before, the acceptance of social drinking of wine by minors or otherwise at mealtime in frogland doesn't equate to anything here on u.s. college campuses
binge drinking in college has nothing to do with age or the legality/illegality of it. it's the environment. all nighters, socials, raids, whatever. the legal age to consume alcohol could be 5yo and it still wouldn't matter. freshmen will be getting hazed to suck down maddog 40/40 regardless and raising or lowering the legal age won't curtail binge drinking one iota.
I'm not trying to offend. Perhaps my experience was different, because I was around pretty mature-acting college students my whole tenure at university. Maybe it wouldn't change the fact that there are 21+ who binge, and hell, 40+ who do for that matter (at college bars, usually, hehe).
But I think it might change SOME students' perspective...maybe make them see that it's not really something sneaky and wrong and they need to pile it in as much as possible.
And I love France. I love that country. It doesn't offend me if you don't, though.
