#15. "There's one sure way to stop us from scoring-give us the ball near the goal line." Matty Bell / SMU

Starts tonight, Bitches! The Spurrier plays NC State on ESPN.

It will be odd not seeing Chuck Amatos red shoes and man-boobs on a NCSU sideline.

Preseason Rankings.

Skydivers deliver game ball to the wrong stadium.

No truth however to the rumor that Texas A&M delivered their football team to the wrong stadium.

Oregon has now beaten UW five straight by more than 20 points each time.

The memory of the Huskies being a powerhouse keeps growing fainter and fainter...

If this is any indication of their season that won't be a bonfire. That will be the boosters burning Mike Sherman in effigy.

BTW has there ever been a shittier first half performance by a quarterback who went on to win the game than the turd Craft delivered for UCLA in the first half last night?

It kind of makes Fresno State's win at Rutgers a little less special. Now maybe Penn State fans will stop talking about Schiano taking over at Penn State when people realize JoePa has been dead for 9 years.

this is an epic beatdown. I don't particularly like UNC, but watching tens of thousands of New Jersey residents file out of a football stadium dejected makes me laugh.

I don't mean to quote myself but I just landed a can't lose bet on this game. If USC wins the girl will have to write "Trojans" on one breast and "Rule" on the other and rub herself to orgasm on cam. If Ohio State wins. .. har har... I will have to write USC on my cock and then beat off for her... which I don't see as losing a bet but she claims... writing "USC" on my cock and then beating it will symbolize Ohio State "beating" USC. Whatever. Shes nuts but...hey.. win-win for me.

It started being a great weekend about 12 hours ago. Nothing better for cheering up a K-State alumni then watching KU shit down their leg in the third quarter, turn it around in the fourth quarter to where every KU fan is thinking we've got this game won only to have it ripped out of their pointy little beaks in the last seconds of the game.

Oregon did everything they could to lose (turnovers, dropped passes, down 20-3), but unlike folding like a cheap suitcase as they've done in the past, won in 2 OTs. QB Justin Roeper hurt his knee though; don't know how bad.

Update: sprained; out 2-4 weeks.

USC destroyed Ohio State. Woohoo. Trojans led 21-3 at the half. Ohio State only gained 30 yards in the entire second half as USC won the game by a final score of 35-3.

Trojans will be national champs come january

Ohio St. looked like a boot full of horse piss last night. If that is the best the Big 10 has to offer just mail in the Rose Bowl. Well, unless you end up playing any team in the PAC (the P and A stand for Pathetically Abysmal) 10 other than USC. Just a reminder of the rest of the conference's accomplishments yesterday:

(23) California 27
Maryland 35

Yes the same Maryland that got beat by Middle Tennessee St. last week and won 14-7 over Delaware the week before.

Washington St. 17
Baylor 45

Think of it as getting beat by the Harvard of the Big 12. I'm not saying Baylor compares with Harvard academically, I just mean level of talent on the football field is somewhat close.

Stanford 14
TCU 31

UCLA 0
(18) BYU 59

How fucking bad is Tennessee this year?

(3) Oklahoma 55
Washington 17

I'm not posting in braille. Anyone that didn't see this one coming is not reading this forum anyway.

Arizona 28
New Mexico 36

[Arizona A.D.]I swear I thought I hired Bob Stoops. [/Arizona A.D.]

UNLV 23-OT
(15) Arizona St. 20

I'm not saying UNLV has absolutely no tradition or history in college football but I tried to click on the face of UNLV football link on ESPN and my computer crashed...twice.

In other words outside of USC every Pac 10 team not in Oregon lost yesterday. It's hard to respect a conference in which the only teams that didn't piss themselves are nicknamed the Ducks and the Beavers.

Now excuse me while I watch a replay of that Auburn-Missijfoiogfiohgffnfknrottgbmrg.ec

Sorry, I nodded off and my head hit the keyboard.

True that.

I think redshirts should actually wear a red shirt, and then, dramatically take it off and give it to an official.

I also think the Mountain West Conference has got to calm the fuck down.

"[5th-string] Thomas gave Oregon life in the fourth quarter. First he hit Jeff Maehl with a 24-yard scoring pass, and then found Ed Dickson with a 20-yard TD pass to narrow it to 37-26.

Another late comeback appeared possible for Oregon. The Ducks got down to the Boise State 7 after two consecutive pass interference penalties by the Broncos, and Thomas found Moore in the end zone to close to within 37-32 with 2:07 left in the game. But time ran out for Oregon.

***

Oregon coach Mike Bellotti said Thomas probably should have gone in sooner."

Went to the Pitt-Iowa game on Saturday, boring game, both teams had shitty QB's but thankfully Pitt won.

We sat right next to the student section and my god was it packed with hotties and hardly any packed on their Freshman 15 yet, almost hooked up with this Sophomore girl who had nice tits.

Watching K-State and TT today was like getting kicked in the balls by someone wearing roller skates. If this was a Kurosawa movie K-State's defensive coordinator would have fallen on his own sword as soon as he went back to the locker room after the game. There will be a new head coach next year at K-State mark my words, at best we will win one game the rest of the year and that will only be because some team just comes into the game sleepwalking and thinking they won't have to make an effort to beat us. Even then they may be right.

Big 12 South best division in football?

Three teams in the top 10 with Oklahoma State lurking. But then there is Baylor.

Don't read too much into Texas Tech's win. Five of the last seven teams K-State has played have rolled up 500+ yards of total offense against them. The two that didn't were North Texas (same team that was beaten by almost 60 points by Rice) and Montana St. One of the K-State sports boards I go to changed the title of their football thread to K-State Football...Or What Is Left Of It.

OTOH I'm sure Nebraska fans are thrilled to see Texas Tech on the schedule next week.

He is being mentioned along with Will Muschamp- Texas Def. Coordinator.

Apparently he was told this morning to win the ACC or be fired and he said "I'll just go now".

I'd hoped they'd wait til the end of the season but I guess this gets a leg up on the search.

It's pretty uncommon for college coaches to be fired mid-season. I think there were a lot of other things going on at Klimpsin that led up to this. The players had quit on Bowden and their quotes seem to reflect happiness that he's gone.

I know a little (well, a lot) more about the situation. There is no dark undertone going on. And as to your IPTAY comment, well, if you can't beat them, follow them and make cracks about 'em.

They better grab one of them before Tennessee does.

I have it on good authority from someone with connections to the K-State football program that Ron Prince has been given an ultimatum of get to a bowl game or get fired at the end of this year. The Cats are 4-2 but have the 102nd ranked defense in the country that has given up 500+ yards in four straight games and are down to what is now their seventh string running back (#1 kicked off team, #s 2, 3, 4 did not qualify academically, #5 demoted two notches on depth chart for ineffectiveness, #6 converted from WR now out for the season with a staph infection, current starting RB true freshman converted from safety) . K-State also still has games left against Oklahoma and Missouri that will be uglier than a can of smashed frogs.

Mid-season list of coaches with their heads on the chopping block.

Tuberville-Auburn
Long-San Diego St.
Prince-Kansas St.
Robinson-Syracuse
Fullmer-Tennessee
Sherman-Texas A&M
Groh-Virginia
Willingham-Washington

How in the fuck did Troy blow a 28 point lead against LSU?

I was wondering that myself. Alabama also got off to a slow start, but they finally built a head of steam and destroyed Miss. St.

"Oregon thwarts Oregon State 65-38
November 29th, 2008 @ 9:02pm

By ANNE M. PETERSON
AP Sports Writer

CORVALLIS, Ore. (AP) - Jeremiah Masoli threw for 274 yards and three touchdowns and Oregon all but crushed Oregon State's hopes of going to the Rose Bowl with a 65-38 victory Saturday in the annual Civil War rivalry game.

A win would have sent the No. 17 Beavers (8-4, 7-2 Pacific-10 Conference) to Pasadena on New Year's Day for the first time since after the 1964 season.

Instead, Oregon State will have to wait to see if UCLA can upset No. 5 USC on Dec. 6. Should the Bruins win, the Beavers would share a three-way tie for the conference title with the Trojans and the Ducks, and Oregon State would have the tiebreaker for the Rose Bowl.

The No. 19 Ducks (9-3, 7-2) foiled the Beavers and their six-game overall winning streak as they avenged a Civil War loss last year at Oregon.

The loss snapped Oregon State's eight-game winning streak at Reser Stadium."

Ha.

My pm telling you to post again wasn't an open invitation for you to bend over and display your "official XPT doormat" tramp stamp, ya freakish nightmare.

Seriously Pimpleclit, it smacks of a lack of self-confidence and I just won't have any part of it.

By that logic, since we already have house homo cxxxtina and flaccid failure ryan you're not needed here anymore. Thanks, bye. You can return to your day job as fluffer at Falcon Studios. How's the carpal tunnel from pounding the angry inch at tatty's topless pics these days? Flaming, like your sexuality, I'm sure.

DIscipline Mike Leach style: Cruel, unusual, and hilarious.

Texas came as close last week as a region can to hitting for the meteorological cycle: In a matter of days, the Lone Star State endured heat, cold, wind, heavy rain, some hail and even, over the weekend, a little flurry in the panhandle. Texas Tech coach Mike Leach, in his intimate knowledge of west Texas weather, knew Friday's cold spell was a fleeting opportunity -- in Lubbock, after all, how often do you get to send a wayward wide receiver to the 50-yard-line to study by himself in the snow?

Edward Britton, Texas Tech’s most experienced split end, was demoted before spring practice and further raised the ire of Tech coach Mike Leach this week. After Friday’s practice in 30-degree weather and a few snow flurries, Britton was sent to study classwork on the double-T at midfield of Jones AT&T Stadium.

He sat at a desk, in street clothes and a heavy coat with the hood pulled up.

"Ed didn’t like showing up and studying at places I felt like he needed to and like the academic people asked him to, so he can go study out there on the 50-yard line," Leach said. "We’ll take baby steps, and if he does good studying out there, we’ll decide if we’re going to actually let him practice."
[...]
"If somehow he fails to do that, then that’ll be the last we ever hear of Easy Ed," Leach said.

We'll assume in that last line that Leach means he might boot Britton (above, No. 27) from the team, since the Captain's taste for unorthodoxy and blood presumably does not extend to fitting players for concrete Nikes (or, in Tech's case, Under Armours). Still, until the Justice Department wrangles tapes of Alabama's closed "study session" at Devil's Island from the man-sized safe in Nick Saban's office, the modern title for "Most Cruel and Unusual Punishment in College Football" belongs to Leach.
