Miami, Florida- Industry veteran Steve Seidman was rushed to the hospital Thursday. According to Craig Valentine, paramedics attended to Seidman for about an hour and a half.
"It was not a good scene," says Valentine. "He's been sick all week and in bad shape."
According to Valentine, Seidman, who had been bed-ridden, was up for awhile and somewhat coherent.
"But Steve kept saying I got to call Brandon. I got to call Brandon," relates Valentine. "He sounded like the guy from Rainman. I'm trying to figure out what the fuck is going on."
Valentine says Seidman is operating a TV remote control thinking it's a phone. So Valentine placed the call to Brandon Iron for Seidman. Iron, who's in town, was working with one of the girls Seidman reps.
Valentine then attended to other matters.
"Then all of a sudden we hear this screaming," says Valentine. "Steve's going into a spasm and is soaking wet. So I call 911 and the medics showed up. Someway, somehow his blood sugar which has been running really high, fell down to 18. And he went into a diabetic shock and basically almost a diabetic coma. They dosed him with so much insulin and sugar- after an hour he was wondering what everyone was during there and how he got an IV in his arm. He had no knowledge of what has been going on and doesn't remember the past couple of days."
Once Seidman was rushed to Memorial Regional hospital it was also discovered that he has pneumonia and tumors in his lungs.
Valentine was told that Seidman would be in for at least the weekend but that there are severe health problems.
