More than enough companies give consumers what "they want." I don't think thats an issue;
As I have said before, I believe the notion of giving the public what they want in the current climate of rampant, unchecked piracy is a double-edged sword. So-called 'Holy Grail' porn moments, such as a hypothetical first b/g for Aria Giovanni or a similarly hypothetical first anal for Gianna would be huge moneymakers, but they are also the scenes that will attract active demands from consumers of pirated material, and thus guarantee a concerted effort on the part of the rippers/uploaders to be the first one to post said clips on whatever particular forum and reap the 'kudos' from their fellow bottom-feeding asswipes.
Example:
Tritone: Hey guys! Here is Jana Jordan's first b/g IR scene! MrMarcusForum: Good Lookin' Out! You Da Man! Etc...

About the only thing that can save porn is a massive recession followed by a massive HIV outbreak taking out 75% of the companies out there and most of the old fart talent still running around.
I believe the market is headed for a correction of sorts...there are too many companies putting out material that is pretty much indistinguishable from their nearest competitors.
As for new talent replacing the old guard, I believe my herpes pooling idea would remove a major barrier for a lot of potential new talent. Again, if the industry took a more proactive approach towards tackling piracy and maximising their profits, I believe they could attract a much better calibre of talent. I'm sure there are plenty of Playboy Playmates that could bring an audience with them, but the question boils down to how many of them will be paying? Would you take a profit share deal on a movie that will be ripped and ready to download for free within 48 hours of it streeting? I know I wouldn't.

Or companies figuring out how to maintain positive mainstream publicity to garner sales. No ones managed to do that yet (about the closest was Girls Gone Wild in my opinion if thats any indicator of the sorry shape of the porn market).
Good point...I'd say companies like Vivid (with their 'reality' shows), Wicked, Digital Playground and Adam & Eve are the ones making the biggest strides in this area, but really nowhere near the household name status of GGW...even before the Joe Francis debacle and ensuing legal brouhaha.
