90's rock... lots of bands appeared then vanished. Some one hit wonders... some had more than one hit but didn't survive the decade. Let us pay tribute... and let us start with a video that featured a super hot chick that all of us probably wanted to have our way with. I'm of course, talking about that ridiculously sexy cheerleader from the Nada Surf video for the song "Popular". The things I would to to this girl.... Nada Surf - Poplular This next band didn't have a super hot cheerleader in their video.. but the lead singer of this one-hit wonder somehow convinced super-hottie Liv Tyler to marry his grimey ass... Spacehog - In The Meantime This next supergroup managed one hit song by way of movie soundtrack... The Flys - Got You Where I Want You A video notorious for featuring a hot Katie Holmes... before she started dating a psychotic Days Of Thunder Star. Contribute your 90's rock band of choice... there were about a thousand that came out of nowhere and then went back to nowhere. At least... thats how I remember the 90's

Probably my favorite one hit wonder of the 90's. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V-Po8uJeoUw&feature=relatedToo bad the Rolling Stones were such pricks about it.

See, I debated whether to include them or not. True, Blur just had the one big hit... but the lead singer did have hits past the year 2000 with Gorillaz.

filter actually had some interesting stuff come out after their big initial hit with "hey man, nice shot". They didn't go #1 or anything, but they're solid for my money (albums like 'Title of Record' and 'The Amalgamut'). However, they (Richard Patrick) just released a new album a few months ago, and it was a big disappointment. I think he will always be under the shadow of being a former NIN guitarist / collaborator.
Stabbing Westward had some success, but then broke up or disbanded in the 90s. They were fun in concert.
Related to the breeders, there is this documentary about the Pixies getting back together that looked interesting...
Nada Surf also had some OK music that came out after their initial popularity died down; I think there was also an album they did that their label held back for years that just recently got released or something?
Veruca Salt (original lineup) made some impressive music for how poorly they were as musicians. The EP where they were on the cover in dresses made from toilet paper was classic.

"Song 2" was Blur's biggest hit in the U.S. but they had a decent following here, nothing like in the UK, but good for a band that got very little spins on the radio. The Universal Parklife
Supergrass was another great British band from that era, had their hit "Alright" not been on the Clueless soundtrack they could have had some stateside street cred and been alot more popular. Alright Caught by the Fuzz
The Dandy Warhols put out some great stuff in the 90's and their cute(in that wannabe hippie chick sorta way) keyboardist would play topless at live shows. Not If You Were the Last Junkie on Earth Boys Better
It makes me sad that the Fun Lovin' Criminals didn't get super popular, they were great live. Scooby Snacks King of New York

yeah... the strippers that danced to that stuff were always the ones who got my time back in the day.
C+C, that was some good shit...
KLF however... that is the best shit! techno music with a Robert Anton Wilson and Discordian influence.

KLF's gonna rock you.
That was way before I stripped, but my friend used to bust out to that one with a Traci Lords techno track following.

it was produced by the dust brothers, i think, though.. so that removes some of the guilt.
