I'm pretty sure I understand the context in which this was meant, but for the sake of argument, the whores 'aren't signing for free'. Maybe the fanbois don't have to pay for the paper jizz targets their favorite whore just signed for them, but the whores are still getting paid for their appearance. There are quite a few whores I've seen over the years say how they won't bother attending the show unless a booth has contracted them for appearance. MAGIC, they still appear, and they've found a last minute hangout for a few hundred bucks per day.

That is, how that Tory Lane isn't with Sin City anymore, see how quickly she gets sucked up by anyone in '09 (if they have a show?). If she's lucky enough to get scarfed up, it might be for some 3rd rate booth for a highly reduced given A) washed-up factor, and B) her reputation at past shows.
But I'm sure you knew all that.
