oh, turns out diablo malloy is waay more proficent than me (than i?) in deciphering the whole "third cousins, twice removed" thing, so turns out i WASN'T raped by an actual second cousin. he and i share first cousins, so we called each other 'second cousins' for like ever. not to mention i distinctly remember watching a PBS documentary on this very topic.
