I mean, what does it really say about us, as a society, that we give so much attention and financial reward to such hollow figures as actors and professional athletes while barely acknowledging teachers, scientists, medical researchers, and public protectors like Fire and Police.
OR causes like world hunger and world peace, or clean energy and social welfare (health and transportation infrastructures, etc., not necessarily "welfare handouts")

I understand the physical and psychological need (and necessity) of entertainment and friendly competition for the general well-being of the masses, but priorities are terribly skewed.

In what Just World, does someone like Keanu Reeves realize 2.5 Billion (Fucking yes, I said BILLION) dollars for a three movie run, while there are people like Darrah around who suffer from the collapse of our educational system?
