Alright. I’m not making sport of anybody here. This is a good lesson for the new folks from the XPT Archives.

A long time ago, way back during the stupid and futile El Burro/CX3 war of Spring, 2008, it was discovered that El Burro created a Wiki page for himself. Some members went over there and posted some really funny but factually inaccurate material about him, including winning some Gay Porn award (I think that was EL G, and it stayed up for a day.)

Anyway, as funny as that stuff was, I argued that a more effective weapon would be the actual truth: His own words from his own website and his numerous criminal convictions, especially the one for beating the shit out of his girlfriend.

I was told in no uncertain terms by Vinh/Morbidthoughts and others that neither El Burro’s own words nor his convictions were considered “reliable.” I was specifically told that Official Government Websites ”are not acceptable,” and that these modern-day Diderots are “not interested” unless the source is what they consider to be “reputable media.”

I was also informed that the only source they considered to be reputable was AVN. Seems to me that Fishbein’s got some mighty deep pockets. It also seems that a cadre of wannabe bureaucrats have entrenched themselves there and have surrounded themselves with a wall of regulations, completely ignoring founder Jimbo Wales’ cardinal rule about throwing out the rules when they get in the way of the truth.

For general knowledge stuff, Wiki’s okay: I have yet to see Einstein’s equation rendered as e = mc hammer. Nor have they asserted that George Washington discovered America in 1492 with three ships called El Nino, Pinto Bean and Santa Claus. Yet. But as a source for Porn information? Hell, I’d put more stock in Darth’s insider tales.
