you know... it sounds silly to say this but its true.

i didn't see Heath Ledger in The Dark Knight at all... there was not a single moment i was watching his portrayal and said "thats heath playing the joker...". Dead, Alive... it is an amazing portrayal of a psychopathic killer who wants nothing more than to fuck with people, only driven by a desire for chaos.... The Joker at his most raw... none of that jack nicholson "hey look, im jack in white paint" bullshit... no Ceasar "i vont shave thee mousetache" Romero... but THE Joker... the one we always wanted to see..

Not to forget Aaron Eckhart as Harvey Dent... gleefully washing TLJ out of my mind forever and giving a spectacular performance.

The Weakest part of the movie... in my opinion... was Bale. I love him as bruce wayne... but... that fucking batman voice... it kinda makes me cringe.

one thing the dark knight wasn't though, was a superhero movie, and i for one am glad for that. It was however, one of the best crime drama's in a long time... and the little tributes to Michael Mann's heat were appropriate. (the nods to burtons batman were nice too... and Harleys "Babies"

... you know... speaking of Harley... which i do often... I would love to have her in a movie just so i can see Bale look at the joker and huff in his horrid bat voice.. "She came closer to killing me than you ever did... puddin'"
