AIDS panicked the industry for a while. However, 25 years after the widespread recognition of this syndrome, it's clear that it's not a fatal syndrome. Magic Johnson has been HIV positive for 17 years, and he still looks as healthy as a milk bud. Others have had HIV for over 20 years, and are as fit as a fiddle. Get over it, it's not a fatal disease anymore.

No longer fatal? Tell that to the nurse infected at work who died a couple of months ago aafter only being infected EIGHT years ago.
It's still fatal but people are just living longer because of better drug cocktails.

One can live many years with HIV if:
- One can afford the expensive anti-HIV drugs
- It is discovered early enough that said drugs can have an effect
- The virus doesn't develop an immunity to the drugs
- The HIV carrier can withstand the sometimes devastating side effects of the drugs.
Just because high profile names like Magic and Andrew Sullivan have lived comfortably with the virus for many years, doesn't mean everyone does or can.

Mariah Carey's sister gets no help from Mariah and she's been in the past homeless, living in her car, on welfare, drug addict, STILL working as a prostitute, and still being arrested for solicitation. But she was still arrested a couple of years ago and this was after her father died and had his inheritance.
