In reference to DanG's long-winded reply, I actually remember Sasha Knox telling me at Erotica LA in '06 that she felt dirty & degraded seeing the films she was in pawned off for $5 per title (at the end of the weekend).

It was highly strokable to hear such a filthy, sperm-gobbling whore express potential regret for the industry she so loved, knowing that her compensation was a lowly $1000-2000 for doing the scene; but distributors were probably still making money from it by merely selling her work (read: soul) for $5 a piece.



The reality was, the distributors (like any merchant at a trade show) didn't want to cart that product back home with them. Get rid of as much as possible, even if it meant taking a mild loss on the disc itself.
