NBC's coverage of the Olympics for the past 20 (?) years has sucked because they produce "human interest" pieces with swarmy music coupled with hours of gymnastics (Summer)/figure skating (Winter).

Their theory has been: Males will watch anything; how do we get the Women to watch?

Hey NBC, I'm only watching boxing, dammit! What satellite NBC-owned station do I have to watch for this?

And the opening/closing ceremonies, maybe...
