I bought a www.magicjack.com and that is the most amazing telephony ever. 20 bucks a year unlimited in the US, and you can plug the worlds cheapest phone or fax into it and it works.

Can you call phone sex with Magic Jack and dont get charged?

I've had it a few months now. I have it plugged into a laptop which connects through our slow office wireless network. When it is directly connected to the lan it works perfectly. Thru this slow wireless it does lag a little bit. I used it sucessfully at home on my satellite connection but I wouldn't recommend it.

You get your own phone number- soon you'll be able to port over your existing number, and it has built-in voice mail on their server- When you get a message the system emails it to you in a .wav file. I've even faxed with it, though they don't support that feature.

All in all, I've added a business line with unlimited calls in the us and canada with a 20 dollar gadget and 20 dollars a year.

I will have to get one once they work the bugs out.....the first edition shits are always nice but sometimes (IPhone) you have to wait (v. 5.0) till they get all the little problems worked out.

It will work if you have broadband, I do not know if you can get a Canadian phone number in your area or not.

On the other hand, you can get yourself a number in Manhattan or Florida or California, and you can always call anywhere in the U.S. and Canada unlimited.

They don't have an exchange in my small city yet, and since I wanted it for outgoing calla anyway, I got a Tampa exchange because I have a lot of friends there who can make a local call to me know.
