This is a huge leap over the Firefox 2.0 series. Many of the best add-on features for past versions have been built into 3.0. The best thing is 3.0 seems to have largely solved its memory leak issues.

I'm not liking it, maybe it's just the adjustment period. I hate that when I start to type a url instead of just auto complete showing up from my recent browsing history it also shows bookmarks. I start to type Net for netflix.com and I also get a Food Network recipe I had saved a while ago.

I also lost all the Search plug-in links and have to redo them all. Worst of all AdBlock doesn't work with 3.0 yet.

A number of extensions that show they are not compatible with the final release, actually are. I have already found updates to MR Tech Local Install (now MR Tech Toolkit) and Tab Mix Plus. Just google the names of the extensions and you will find 3.0 final release updates for many of them.

By the way, Khan, Adblock Plus works perfectly with 3.0.

I wouldn't worry about getting your themes updated. Most of the popular ones will probably be updated over the next few days to couple of weeks. By the way, I usually hate Ff default themes but I kind of like this one.

Oh, another extension that now works with 3.0 final release is Google Toolbar. A few people were complaining in the Mozillazine forums that it isn't compatible. It is now.

I ended up downloading AdBlock Plus after discovering AdBlock doesn't work. I am tired and haven't looked to see if the filters I had in place still are.

I'm a Windows XP guy, but I know there are a lot of Mac users who prefer Firefox. I certainly prefer it over IE7 and Opera. You can configure Firefox to do things that no other browser can do. The options you have with Ff are almost endless.

Downloaded 3.0 a couple of days ago. It beats 2.0 on technical merit but loses out to it on artistic impression. I like everything about it except the AeroFox layout is not as sharp as the 2.0 version.

Zen, firebug is the best! Fuck Venkman. With the Web Developer and Firebug extensions, you can do everything you need for website development. I use it to debug Ajax shit. I wouldn't download FF 3.0 beta on my development machines because firebug wasn't ready for 3.0 beta. 3.0 seems to be much better with Ajax auto-suggest controls (at least the ones I write). The html textarea command looks and works nicer in 3.0.

I cannot believe how incredible firebug is either. It would take you months, maybe a year to learn shit that you can just by rooting around pages.

Be careful about downloading 3.0.1. Tab Mix Plus and 1-Click Weather among other extensions will not work with it. Incompatibility isn't usually an issue with minor updates, but not so this time.
