The threads the Swami initiated, as opposed to posts where he replied to flames, were generally focused on the whores, or the business, etc – on topic I think. He may have posted too many top-ten lists, but they were top-ten lists related to porn. I might ask him to space out new threads so there were no more than three new threads a day or so, but these aren’t a problem in my view.

The problem with Swami is that he facts are so wrong as to make you wonder if he is about to lead a WMD search in Iraq. All fanboys make dumb mistakes – we know nothing about the industry by watching videos – but most of us realize that or will learn after being whacked a few times. Swami would make amazing mistakes, get corrected, and another dumb mistake without breaking stride. He seems immune to learning from his mistakes, indeed doesn’t seem to realize he is supposed to learn from his mistakes.

The real problem is that his standing had deteriorated to the point that almost every post he made got several flame replies (I’m guilty here too) and he would understandably reply in kind. Every post he made, even if reasonable for XXXPT, would result in a trail of worthless sniping.

My inclination is to not ban him. I’d ask him to try to harder to check & cite sources – he needs to learn this anyway – and have mods try to nudge him when needed and douse flames (or at least not make it worse). A ban ought to be the last option, when he’s been read the rules & can’t comply.

Sammura went on a crack binge or something one evening. Before that she was mainly responding to potshots from others here. I wouldn’t ban someone for replying in kind. If she promises to unplug her computer before inhaling in the future I’d unban her. If members are allowed to bash talent every chance should be given to talent to bash back.

A better example of a problem is Monsieur. Does this guy do anything other than stalk Brandon Iron or Steve Holmes and throw insults? At what point does it cross the line in making this a hostile place for talent? People ought to be able to state that they think Steve is old, and tweaking Brenda is always fun, but not to the point of making a monotone Gregorian chant out of it; I’d like for Steve to be able to post just once without the same old crap. At least new insults, maybe related to his posts.
